Project description:
"Signal Requirements for My Project (Point by Point)
1. Types of Signals
Device should handle all common inverter AC indoor-outdoor communication signals:
UART / Serial (3.3V / 5V level)
PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) – duty cycle and frequency based
DC-Shift (voltage shift modulation)
Baud rate range: 2400 – 9600 bps for UART signals.
PWM frequency: 100 Hz – 3 kHz typical.
Voltage levels: 0–5V, 0–12V, 0–15V (configurable or auto-detect).
2. Signal Capture & Decode
Device should read signals from Indoor PCB and Outdoor PCB.
Automatically detect whether signal is UART, PWM, or DC-Shift.
Show frequency, baud rate, voltage on display.
Decode UART data to confirm communication (basic hex view is enough).
3. Signal Translation
If Indoor and Outdoor are from different brands, device should:
Capture Indoor signal and translate it into Outdoor’s format.
Capture Outdoor feedback and translate it into Indoor’s format.
This allows cross-brand communication (for example, Daikin Indoor with LG Outdoor).
4. Signal Simulation
Device must work as simulator in two cases:
1. Indoor Simulator → If only Outdoor PCB is present, device behaves like Indoor and sends proper signals.
2. Outdoor Simulator → If only Indoor PCB is present, device behaves like Outdoor and sends proper feedback signals.
In both cases, compressor, fan, and sensor feedback signals must be simulated so Indoor PCB does not show error.
5. Auto Learn Mode
If a new or unknown brand signal comes, device should:
Capture that signal pattern.
Save it in memory (EEPROM/Flash).
Next time, auto-run that saved profile when the same PCB is connected.
6. Error Indication
If any expected signal is missing (for example, U signal not present, feedback not received):
LED indicator should blink an error code.
LCD display should show an error message such as “Missing Outdoor Signal.”
7. Display & Output
Show on display:
Signal type (UART/PWM/DC-Shift)
Frequency or Baud rate
Voltage level
Compressor/Fan/Sensor emulation status
Error messages
Also allow USB output or serial log for debugging.
8. Safety & Protection
Reverse polarity protection.
Over-voltage cutoff (device should not turn ON if input is greater than 6V DC).
Protection against accidentally connecting 230V phase to signal line.
