"I am extending our internal banking portal with a fully-functioning e-signature workflow dedicated to confidential contracts. The module must sit inside the existing web application, respect our current HTTPS set-up (standard SSL encryption throughout), and let staff send a contract, capture a legally binding signature, then archive the signed version alongside a tamper-evident audit trail.

Key points you should know up front
• Scope is limited to confidential contracts for now, but the architecture should be flexible enough that we can add loan agreements or account-opening forms later without a re-write.
• Everything happens in-browser—no mobile component is required at this stage.
• SSL is already enforced at the reverse proxy; please rely on that layer rather than building extra MFA or biometric checks.
• Compliance with common e-signature standards (eIDAS, ESIGN Act, UETA) is expected so we can rely on the output in court if needed.

Deliverables
1. Front-end components (vanilla JS or any mainstream framework) that let a user place, draw, or type a signature and review a final “signed” PDF/HTML rendition.
2. Back-end endpoints that receive signature data, stamp a time-based hash, embed it into the document, and store everything in our existing SQL store.
3. A concise README covering install steps, environment variables, and how to trigger the signing flow in dev and staging.
4. Test scripts proving that the hashing and document-locking mechanism holds when a file is altered post-signature.
