"Resource Requirement: WordPress Architect & Lead Developer (Australia)

This document outlines the requirements for a highly skilled and independent WordPress Architect and Lead Developer based in NSW, Australia. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of deep technical expertise, strategic foresight, and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset. They will report directly to the founder and be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from hands-on development to project architecture and delivery.

1. Role and Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership: Act as the technical architect for the web project, from conceptualization to launch. You will be responsible for defining the tech stack, designing database schemas, and ensuring the overall scalability and security of the platform.

Full-Cycle Project Management: Drive projects from start to finish, working independently to gather requirements, create development plans, execute tasks, and ensure timely delivery.

Hands-on Development: Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using the MyListing theme. You will be the primary coder, responsible for implementing complex features and custom functionalities.

Tool and Plugin Mastery:

Implement and configure required plugins, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.

Design and build responsive layouts using Elementor and Elementor Pro.

Create and manage forms and functionalities with Contact Form 7.

Develop and manage e-commerce functionalities, including subscriptions, with WooCommerce and WooCommerce Subscriptions.

Version Control and Deployment: Manage the entire codebase using Git and GitHub for version control, collaboration, and deployment workflows.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, including theme/plugin conflicts, site performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.

Startup Responsibilities: As a key member of a small team, you will be expected to wear multiple hats. This includes assisting with product strategy, providing technical insights for business decisions, and contributing to the overall growth of the company beyond a typical developer role.



2. Required Technical Skills and Experience

WordPress Architecture: Deep knowledge of WordPress's core functionalities, database schema (MySQL), APIs, and best practices for building scalable, high-performance websites.

Theme & Plugin Mastery:

MyListing Theme: Minimum of 2 proven implementations, with a demonstrated ability to extend and customize the theme's core functionalities.

WooCommerce & WooCommerce Subscriptions: Extensive experience with complex e-commerce and subscription-based implementations.

Elementor & Elementor Pro: Expertise in using the page builder and its Pro features to create unique, highly customized designs.

Programming Languages:

Exceptional proficiency in PHP, including object-oriented programming (OOP).

Strong command of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Version Control:

Highly proficient in Git, with a solid understanding of professional branching models (e.g., Git Flow or GitHub Flow) and managing pull requests.

Performance & Security: Experience with website performance optimization (caching, asset optimization) and implementing security best practices.



3. Soft Skills and Professional Traits

Founder's Mentality: You must be a self-starter who takes complete ownership of your work. You are not a task-taker but a problem-solver who can identify issues and propose solutions without constant direction.
