"There is a fully-functional SOCKS5 proxy written in C for Linux and now I want a new feature to be added. The core codebase is stable, well-documented, and you access the current sources together with complete technical documentation.

The exact feature set will be shared once we have agreed that your background in C and low-level TCP networking matches the task, but in broad terms the work involves adding new functionality rather than fixing bugs or tuning performance. You should therefore be comfortable navigating a mature codebase, structuring clean patches, and respecting the existing coding style.

Two public VPS test machines, reachable via SSH, will be made available so you can compile, run, and validate the proxy under realistic conditions. I am flexible on timing—anywhere within the next two to three months is fine—so you can plan the work around your schedule.

Deliverables:
• Patch set(s) against the original proxy source tree, ready to apply with PATCH
• Brief build and usage notes highlighting the new feature flags or configuration options you introduce
