"Project Overview



We are building a custom photo printing application that will run as both a web platform and a desktop/kiosk application.

The system will allow customers to:



Import photos from SD cards, USB drives, phones, or cloud storage
Browse thumbnails and select multiple photos
Perform basic editing (rotate, crop, brightness, contrast, red-eye removal, etc.)
Choose print sizes, quantities, and apply non-destructive cropping for each print size
Preview and checkout in 3–4 steps maximum
Access advanced products: collages, calendars, photo books, cards, posters, canvases
Log into accounts to save projects, resume later, and manage storage (with quotas/tiers)
Submit print jobs to local printers (we are handling fulfillment in-house, no third-party print APIs).


Key Features to Develop


Photo import engine: detect SD/USB/phone automatically
Photo editing UI: crop box overlays with aspect ratios (4x6, 5x7, etc.), adjustments, non-destructive edits
Pricing & checkout: quantity-based pricing tiers, live price updates, simple order summary
Creative templates: collages, calendars, books, cards (JSON/HTML-based templates rendered to PDF/print files)
Account system: login (OTP/email/social), save/resume projects, storage plans & quotas

Qualifications




Strong experience with image processing libraries (Sharp, ImageMagick, OpenCV, etc.)
Experience building custom editors/canvas UIs ([login to view URL], Konva, or similar)
Knowledge of color management & ICC profiles for print is a plus
Experience with desktop app frameworks (Electron, WPF, or similar)
Familiarity with secure kiosk systems (auto-logout, cache wipe) is an advantage
Clear communication and ability to provide regular update
