Budget: Recommended by industry experts
Time to start: As soon as possible
Project description:
"My C++ codebase is already complete and functional on Windows; it loads images, applies ICC profiles, and even generates device-link profiles. What I need now is help turning this private tool into a polished open-source project that others can build, use, and extend.
Here’s what I have in mind:
• Repository setup: migrate the current code to GitHub (or a comparable public platform) with an appropriate open-source license.
• Cross-platform build: create CMake-based or similar scripts so the project builds cleanly on Windows out of the box and is straightforward to port to Linux and macOS later.
• Documentation: write a concise README, usage samples, and in-code comments explaining key classes—especially the ICC handling and device-link generation logic.
• Packaging: provide example binaries, unit tests, and a small set of sample images with reference profiles so users can verify correct colour output.
• Continuous integration: add a simple CI workflow (GitHub Actions or equivalent) that compiles the project on at least one Windows runner and runs basic tests.
Acceptance criteria
– Builds successfully on Windows with a single command.
– Public repo contains clear build and usage instructions.
– Sample images processed through the tool match the supplied reference results.
– License, contribution guidelines, and issue templates included.
If you have a background in C++ colour-management libraries (Little CMS, OpenColorIO, etc.) and a knack for crafting developer-friendly open-source releases, I’d love your expertise in bringing this project to the community." (client-provided description)
