"Aegir Commercial Diver’s Logbook – Cross-Platform App Development (Android, iOS, Desktop)

Description:

We are seeking experienced developers to build the first version (MVP) of Aegir Commercial Diver’s Logbook, a digital replacement for the traditional paper logbook used by professional divers worldwide.

The solution must be cross-platform: Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux. It must work offline-first (many divers operate without reliable network) and be ready for distribution via Google Play, App Store, and PC (installer packages or Steam).

This MVP will be fully functional as a standalone product but must also be built with a clean architecture and hooks for future integration with our broader Ægir DiveOS ecosystem (AI, HiveSync, Core).

We will provide:

Scans/photos of the official diver’s logbook (English fields).

Branding/logo assets.


Core Features (MVP v1 – must be delivered):

Full digitalization of paper logbook: personal details, medical certificates, qualifications, training, dive logs, cumulative experience.

Digital signatures: diver + supervisor (touch/stylus/mouse).

Save & validation: critical fields must be completed before saving.

Draft save: allow incomplete entries to be saved.

Blank dive option: save signed dive with only date/signatures (no hours).

Edit log entries: requires re-signing by diver + supervisor.

Cloud compatibility: OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive integration.

Export & sharing: PDF and Excel export; one-click “send via email”.

Company branding: upload logo for stamp, fallback “Approved” if no logo uploaded.

GPS autofill: WGS84 coordinates + reverse geocoded location name; editable.

Autocomplete for repeated fields (Company, Vessel, Operator, Names, etc.).

Equipment lists: dropdown/autocomplete for helmets (KMB18B, KM27, KM37SS, KM77, KM97, Gorski, etc.) and masks.

Work descriptions: quick-select list (Fish farming, Welding, Oxy-Arc, Inspection, NDT, Construction, Offshore, etc. + manual entry).

Tools used: quick-select (Hydraulic drill, chainsaw, press, Oxy-Arc, Welding gun, Pneumatic tools, HP/LP jet, ejector, hand tools + manual entry).

Cumulative diving hours: auto-update in background.

Per-tool hours: auto-update for each equipment type.

Surface vs Saturation toggle: only one active (corrects paper book error).

External signing: supervisor/diver can sign via secure email link or Microsoft Authenticator.

Offline-first: all functions available offline, sync when back online.

Login & Security:

First login with 2FA (email or Microsoft Authenticator).

Subsequent logins with 4-digit PIN.

Local data encrypted.




Future-Proofing (Hooks required in MVP):

AI Hook (online + offline): placeholder for later integration (OpenAI / Mistral).

HiveSync Hook: placeholder sync module for future AI training.

Ægir DiveOS Core Hook: service layer prepared for future integration.


(These hooks can simply return “Not implemented in v1”, but code structure must allow easy extension later.)


Deliverables

Android app (Google Play ready).

iOS app (App Store ready via TestFlight/IPA).

Desktop apps: Windows EXE, Mac PKG, Linux DEB (Steam-ready or standalone installer).

Full source code + build instructions.

Short admin manual (user creation, logging, export, backup).

Passing test cases: create/save/edit/export/log offline, signatures, GPS, branding.


Non-Functional Requirements

Performance: app startup <3s, log save/load <300ms locally.

Data integrity: no data loss when offline or after restart.

UI: clean, modern, large input fields, clear validation errors.

Encryption: local data encrypted.



Legal / IP

Work-for-hire: All intellectual property, source code, and documentation belong solely to Ægir Group.

NDA + IP assignment must be signed before project start.
