Project description:
"I want to create a mobile app that helps deaf people know when someone is calling them by name. This idea comes from my personal experience with my brother, who is 100% deaf. Many times, people call him, but he does not respond because he cannot hear. This makes him feel ignored and left out. I want to build something that gives him confidence and helps him feel connected to others.
The app will work like this: the user will install the app on their Android phone and save a list of names, like Ravi or Raju. The app will always listen in the background using the phone’s microphone. If someone nearby calls one of these saved names, the app will recognize it and immediately send an alert to a smartwatch connected by Bluetooth. The watch will vibrate for about three seconds and show the name on the screen. This way, the deaf person knows someone is calling them and can respond.
The app should be simple, easy to use, and work offline. It must allow users to add or remove names anytime. It should also be optimized so it does not drain the battery too quickly. Privacy is important, so all processing should happen on the device and not on the internet. The main features will include continuous listening, name detection, Bluetooth connection to the watch, and vibration alerts with name display.
This project is very special to me because it is for my brother, but I believe it will help many other deaf people around the world. I am looking for a freelancer who can develop this app with smart and simple solutions. If you have experience with Android app development, voice recognition, and Bluetooth connectivity, I would love to work with you on this meaningful project." (client-provided description)
