Project description:
"I need a clean, reusable Laravel function (or small service class) that lets me add new columns of any basic type—text, numeric, date, or whatever the database allows—to any existing or freshly-created table in my SaaS. After the field is added, the app’s current Blade-based GUI should immediately treat it like a native column: it must appear inline with the other fields across list, create, edit and show views, and respect my existing styling and form-component conventions.
Core expectations
• Works on Laravel (latest LTS) running on Ubuntu with MariaDB.
• Handles providers, materials, costs and every other table I might introduce later.
• Creates sensible, field-type aware validation rules (required / nullable flags, length or value ranges, date format, etc.).
• Includes migration generation so schema changes remain version-controlled.
• Leaves my existing code untouched; the module should plug in cleanly via a service provider or trait.
Deliverables
1. Well-documented Laravel code enabling the dynamic column creation and GUI injection.
2. One example implementation that adds a sample column to a new table and to an existing table, proving the end-to-end flow.
3. README with setup, config options and rollback instructions.
4. Brief screencast or screenshots demonstrating the new field appearing inline in the CRUD interface.
If you’ve tackled dynamic schema changes in Laravel before, I should be able to review your code, run php artisan migrate, and start adding custom fields right away." (client-provided description)
