"My WordPress portfolio is built with a mix of Elementor and Divi elements. In every project entry the “Describe the Work You Completed” field stops displaying at an arbitrary point and strips out line breaks once the page switches from Edit to View. Because the problem affects all text entries, the issue clearly sits in the way the field is stored and rendered rather than in individual user input.

What I need now is a clean, update-safe solution that:

• raises the character limit so even very long descriptions are stored in full,
• preserves paragraph breaks and other basic formatting when the text is displayed, and
• leaves existing data untouched while you work.

Please implement the fix through a child theme function or small custom plugin—no edits to core files—so future WordPress, Elementor, or Divi updates won’t overwrite the change. When you’re done, hand over:

1. The working code or plugin, ready to install.
2. A brief changelog explaining which hooks, filters, or database adjustments you used.
3. Confirmation that the fix has been tested on at least three recent desktop and mobile browsers with no loss of content or formatting.
