"The project needs a clean jump to the newest tool-chain so I can squeeze better performance out of the app. Concretely, I want the codebase compiled with Java 17, the Android target/compile SDK moved to API 35 or higher, and both the Gradle wrapper and Android Gradle Plugin brought up to their latest stable versions.

Current build scripts are still on pre-35 API settings and an older Java level, which is starting to cost me speed on modern devices. Your job is to update every layer of the tool-chain, resolve any breaking changes, and make sure the app boots, runs, and ships from Android Studio without warnings.

Deliverables
• Updated [login to view URL] files (module & project) reflecting Java 17 and targetSdkVersion 35+
• Up-to-date Gradle wrapper and matching Android Gradle Plugin
• All code adjustments or desugaring settings required for Java 17 compatibility
• A successful release APK/AAB built with the new setup, along with a short changelog describing what was touched
