"We have a live CodeIgniter-based web application that is experiencing automatically generated (bot) customer accounts, despite having Google reCAPTCHA v2 implemented on the registration page.

We’re looking for a skilled developer or security expert who can:

Responsibilities:

Analyze the current registration workflow and identify vulnerabilities.

Strengthen the anti-bot protection (beyond reCAPTCHA).

Implement additional security measures such as:

Honeypot fields

IP rate limiting

Device/browser fingerprinting

Email verification (optional)

JavaScript-based bot detection

Prevent further fake signups without affecting real user experience.

Requirements:

Proven experience with CodeIgniter

Web security knowledge (esp. spam/bot prevention)

Familiarity with CAPTCHA, honeypots, and backend validation

Ability to document the implemented solution clearly

Deliverables:

Updated and secured registration logic

Brief report on what was done and why

Suggestions for ongoing monitoring
