Project description:
"I need a purpose-built Android application that connects to the REST API of my current POS and turns any tablet into an efficient kitchen display. Once the app fetches live order data, it must show every product variation, price and modifier in a clean, easy-to-read queue. Kitchen staff should be able to tap to Accept or Reject an order, flag it as Delayed, and finally mark it Cooked. A single on-screen button must send the ticket to our network printer.
Because the kitchen is noisy, the app has to fire a loud sound alert each time a new order arrives, vibrate the device, and raise a full-screen pop-up so nothing is missed. An authentication screen (simple PIN or username/password is fine) keeps the display restricted to staff. After any action is taken, the app must post the updated order status and basic statistics—time to accept, time to cook, current queue length—back to the POS via the same API.
Core deliverables:
• Android APK and readable source code (Kotlin or Java)
• API integration layer with clear endpoints documented
• Responsive tablet UI that auto-refreshes the queue
• Action buttons: Accept, Reject, Delay, Cooked + Print
• Notification system with sound, vibration and pop-up settings
• Secure, lightweight authentication screen
• Function to push status metrics back to POS in real time
A short testing period on our staging POS will be the final acceptance step." (client-provided description)
