"Description:
I have an existing custom integration that connects SimplyBook (appointment booking system) with RemoteLock (smart lock system). The purpose of the integration is:

When a customer books an appointment in SimplyBook, The system automatically generates and sends them a unique RemoteLock access code.

The integration is currently running, but it still relies on old credentials that are no longer secure. I have a zip file of the full codebase, and I need a professional developer to:

Tasks:

1. Review the provided code to confirm it’s complete and functional.
2. Replace all old credentials (SimplyBook API keys, RemoteLock API keys, VPS/hosting/database access) with fresh new ones I will provide.
3. Troubleshoot and restore full functionality so that codes are correctly generated and delivered after a booking.
4. Implement a secure credential management system:

-Store all credentials in one configuration file (e.g., `.env`) or secrets manager.
- Ensure that if I need to change a password or API key in the future, I only have to update it in one place.
5. Document where and how credentials are stored so I can update them myself in the future without needing a developer.

Stability & Reliability Requirements (Addition)
Ensure the integration is stable and reliable, handling edge cases and possible API errors gracefully.
Implement error handling and logging, so any issues with SimplyBook, RemoteLock, or VPS connectivity are clearly reported.
Test the system thoroughly with multiple bookings to confirm correct code generation and delivery every time.
Ensure that future API updates or credential changes are easy to manage without breaking the system.

Requirements:

Proven experience with API integrations (REST APIs, webhooks).
Strong knowledge of PHP / Python / Node.js (depending on what the code is written in — you’ll confirm from the zip).
Familiarity with cron jobs / scheduled tasks.
Secure handling of credentials and best practices for API keys.
Professional communication and clear cost estimates before starting work.

Deliverables:

Fully working integration hosted on my VPS (not on the developer’s server).
All old credentials removed and replaced with new ones.
Proper credential management system in place.
Clear documentation for future maintenance.
Optional: suggestions for improvements to make the system more reliable.
