"This post is me starting the process of finding help, as idk how much work atm i will have needed or required, and idk what costs will be, so right now keep that in mind...probably depending on costs, i would be ready to begin in the next 1-4 months, and i have until november 18th 2026 (woodbadge tickety deadline if you are familiar with wood badge, otherwise ignore this), so even if i start small or have something basic down or working, we can always add to it over time, vs doing everything all at once, unless costs wont be high, then sure

(Edit: I also wanted to say how, this is something, im not sure what would be needed or required exactly....im doing my non profit project yes, but on the side, ive been doing communication to other countries, via their scouting programs, and this app or tool is something that they had interest in me helping to do....idk if this would be something we can expand on or offer stuff that would be useful in other countries or areas of the world)


Something I’m looking to try and do down the road, just seeing who would be interested in helping or who would charge what.



TLDR: I want to create a mobile app, as part of a non-profit project, that will serve as a helper app with tools and education-based information for people with special needs and disabilities.
I don’t have a full list of what I would like to accomplish or what the app should do, but I’m open to discovering potential items or features that the app can include to be helpful for anyone with special needs or disabilities.

It’s part of a Scout project, as the mobile app is meant for Scouts with special needs and disabilities. My goal is to help create a helper app—an app that has tools or features, accessible add-ons, or things they can use to help aid them in certain tasks. Special-needs or disability-specific things, forms that can be downloaded or printed, etc.

I know some C# myself, and I can potentially help as well. I’m not sure if C# is the language that would be wise to use, but if so, then I can also help with some stuff wherever possible.
I would also be open to exploring if any websites or places have add-ons that we could use. One thing I think would be cool to do at some point is adding forums or a place where parents and leaders can discuss topics openly, whether that’s Scout-related or special-needs-related, etc. I’m not sure exactly on that process, but I’m sure it would be a 3rd-party site that would require a purchase. I wouldn’t need anything crazy, just something where posts and topics can be created.

The other big thing I can think of that would be helpful is having some sort of interactable map. People could go on the app and, for certain locations or businesses, leave notes or add photos/information—for example, about a business that offers XYZ items that can be used for ABC disabilities, recommendations, or whatever else. That way, map information could be useful for another adult, like if a leader or parent needs to know if a place is user-friendly for certain needs or disabilities. I’m sure there’s stuff out there that does this, but remember I only know so much information on disabilities or special needs.

Again, I’m not in a rush. I’m just seeing what my options are, who is interested, and also what potential things can be done.
