Project description:
"We are developing a Lite AI Surgical Assistant that runs on a laptop with a basic USB camera, microphone, and speaker.
The assistant should:
Capture live video from the camera and analyse and suggest doctor for any advice (ex:Hey doctor artery is nearby be careful and your favorite music is on the way.)
Listen to the surgeon’s voice through the microphone.
Convert speech to text (using Whisper or similar).
Send queries to ChatGPT and receive answers.
Speak the answers back using a natural Text-to-Speech engine.
Provide a few voice-triggered entertainment options (e.g., play music, tell jokes, read news headlines).
Show a simple UI where live video is displayed with captions/transcripts.
(Bonus but included) Perform basic instrument detection on surgical videos using a pretrained model (YOLOv8 or equivalent).
The final deliverable should be a working demo app that we can run on a standard laptop with a webcam and mic.
Responsibilities
Build a Python application that integrates video, audio, and AI voice interaction.
Implement speech-to-text → ChatGPT → text-to-speech pipeline.
Implement live video streaming with OpenCV.
Add basic voice commands for switching between “Assistant Mode” and “Entertainment Mode.”
Integrate a pretrained YOLOv8 model to detect a few instruments (forceps, scalpel, suction) on a recorded surgical video.
Deliver clean, documented code with installation instructions.
Provide a short demo video showing the assistant in action." (client-provided description)
