Project description:
"I’d like to turn five simple push buttons and a 4-inch thermal printer into a pocket-sized “literary vending machine.” Press one button and out comes a short story; press another and you get poetry, comics, book reviews, or flash fiction. A fixed, clearly labeled button will map to each genre so there’s no cycling or combination logic for the user—just tap and print.
Platform-wise I’m flexible. If the solution leans toward Arduino, great; if a Raspberry Pi makes integration easier, that’s fine too. What matters is a tidy schematic, sensible part choices, and smooth, low-latency printing. Short stories will be the first and largest content set, so please structure storage with that in mind (local SD card or equivalent).
Here’s what I need from you:
• A fully assembled, working prototype that triggers the selected category and prints cleanly on the 4-inch thermal unit
• Well-commented source code and any libraries used
• A wiring diagram and annotated schematic showing every connection
• Quick-start documentation so I can reproduce the build or flash updates
The device should boot quickly, handle basic button-debounce, and keep each print within the printer’s character limits. If this sounds like a fun build, let’s talk parts lists and timelines." (client-provided description)
