"The foreground tracking in my app is already stable thanks to @react-native-community/geolocation, but I now need the same smooth, live stream of coordinates when the app is in the background or completely killed on both iOS and Android.

Here is what I expect: after the user taps an existing “Start Trip” button, the service keeps transmitting location updates at a steady interval even if the user locks the phone or swipes the app away. When the user taps “Stop Trip,” tracking must end and the service should release every wake-lock or sensor to avoid battery drain.

My current repo (React Native 0.80.1) so you can plug in your solution. Any native modules you choose it should be free or open source or pure Swift/Kotlin implementations—are fine as long as:

• updates are delivered in real time to the JS layer while closed
• iOS complies with Background Modes / Significant-change settings
• Android runs as a foreground service and survives Doze
• the implementation passes Xcode and Android Studio builds without extra manual steps
