"I need a hand completing the initial React Native environment configuration so I can build and run one code-base on both iOS and Android. There are an open-source React Native mobile application that I’d like to spin up locally for ongoing development and customization. A portion of the tooling is already in place, but I’m missing several pieces and would like an experienced developer to walk me through the rest, check what I have, and make sure everything works together smoothly.

The goal is straightforward: by the end of the engagement I should be able to clone the open source repo from GitHub on a fresh machine, install the required dependencies, and successfully launch the app in an iOS simulator and as well an Android emulator or physical device connected to the machines and use the push-notifications module, a scrolling news feed, and the hooks for location-aware “local community” content.

What I already have
• Source code in a public Git repository
• Windows with Android Studio, Node, npm, and Git installed,macOS machine with Xcode not yet, so that is this a part of this task.
The Android emulator/device are launched on Expo GO a new project but is not yet connected to the backend which running on Ruby on Rails. I will share the GitHub repository and explain the current environment details as soon as we schedule the session, but you have to install the mobile app on your end first.
All remaining dependencies installed especially for iOS. Xcode on macOS machine (SDKs, command-line tools, proper PATH setup)
• A fresh React Native starter project created, building and running successfully on an iOS simulator and an Android emulator/device connected to the backend

What I need from you
• Step-by-step guidance (screen-share, screencast or written instructions) to configure React Native CLI, Xcode, and Android Studio so they work together smoothly, that I can repeat the process on another machine
Resolution of any build errors, path issues, or missing package problems that appear during setup
• Resolve any dependency conflicts so the project launches without red-box errors, if any.
Clear documentation of the final setup process for iOS and Android.
Configure and demonstrate push notifications integration, verifying that a test notification reaches the device.
All changes compile and run on my machine before we close the project.
