Public speaking and effective argumentation are critical skills, yet practicing them can be intimidating and lacks objective, immediate feedback. The AI Debate Coach is a Java-based desktop application designed to address this gap. The system utilizes a voice-enabled interface to capture a user's speech, which is then processed by a real-time Speech-to-Text (STT) engine. The transcribed text is subsequently fed into a Large Language Model (LLM) API, which has been prompted to act as a debate coach. The AI analyzes the user's argument structure, clarity, use of rhetorical devices, filler words, and overall persuasiveness. It then provides actionable, real-time feedback directly on the user's screen. The project aims to provide an accessible, on-demand tool for students and professionals to build confidence and enhance their debating abilities in a private, constructive environment."
