"I’m setting up a cross-platform chat application inspired by WeChat, but with the spotlight squarely on private real-time communication. The build must support text, voice, and video conversations out of the box, all protected by end-to-end encryption. I want users to move seamlessly from typing to talking to face-to-face without ever leaving a single chat thread, so latency and smooth transitions are critical.

Core requirements
• End-to-end encrypted text, voice, and video messaging
• Push notifications that respect each platform’s battery-saving guidelines
• Secure user registration and login (email, phone, or social auth—open to recommendations)
• Contact syncing that pulls from the device while giving users clear privacy controls
• Scalable backend (Firebase, AWS, or your proven alternative) with message delivery receipts and offline caching
• Clean, modern UI that echoes WeChat’s ease of use yet feels fresh and original

Deliverables
