Project description:
"I'm looking for a skilled SwiftUI and Audiokit expert who can help me integrate my Theremin into an audio processing app. The audio source will be my Theremin input into the headphone jack, which will be used for sound processing and display.

Key Tasks:
- Recognize the input source in code.

Audiokit processing UI/UX is already functional. But it only recognizes the built in mics. I need to plug a theremin into the headphone jack or other input method and have that input source recognized and turn off all the other built in mics. I need someone proficient in Audiokit in a swiftUI project to consult with and identify the problem.

Ideal Skills:
- Proficient in SwiftUI and Audiokit

This project is ideal for someone who is proficient in AudioKit Swift programming.

Here is a description of the hardware from the hardware team that we are attempting to connect to iPad:

"As mentioned in previous discussions scattered amongst the parties involved, the question at hand is how to get the ThereScope’s audio out connection to match up so that the iPad’s wired mic input sees it.

ThereScope audio out is on the tip of a 3.5mm connector. I have confirmed it works through all connection types (TS, TRS and TRRS) by connecting to an audio interface and recording the output into a track in Cubase, with the ThereScope’s speaker output turned down so as not to interfere with the iPad’s built-in mics.

I used the same 3.5mm connector with a TRS headphone adaptor (for ¼” to the interface) and then with extension cables for TRS and TRRS connectors with the same adaptor. I might have a TS adaptor, but couldn’t dig one up in a timely fashion.

It’s the TRRS connection that must be addressed, as that is the connection for use with both iPad hardware headphones/mics and Lightning dongles for iPads that don’t have the hardware connection.

Audio Kit sees the Wired Mic input being accessed when I plug my Apple wired headphones/mic into both the hardware input and via the Lightning dongle. It does not see that input as being accessed when I plug in any cable/extension/adaptor combo from the ThereScope..

When using the Apple buds/mic for Facetime I get left audio and the mic works. Seeing as a plain stereo buds extension is TRS, I’m assuming for TRRS the Tip is left audio, first Ring is right audio, second Ring is mic and the Sleeve is the ground. Mike will be researching this when looking into Audio Kit specs next week but maybe Adam can confirm?

Assuming this is the case, we need a modified TRRS extension cable that reroutes the tip at the female end to the second ring on the male end.
