Project description:
"I need a developer (or small team) to turn my concept for a modern news application into a polished product that runs natively on both Android and iOS from a single codebase. The experience has to be fast, clean, and intuitive so readers can catch up on breaking headlines the moment they open the app.
Here is the workflow I have in mind. The splash screen fades straight into a feed of the latest stories, while a real-time push-notification service (FCM for Android, APNs for iOS) handles every “Breaking News” alert. Articles must support rich media—text, multiple images, and embedded video—and the live-coverage area needs tight YouTube integration for streaming. If you have experience with Vimeo or self-hosted HLS, mention it, but YouTube is the initial requirement.
Inside the app readers will swipe through Politics, Sports, Entertainment, Business, Technology, and any future categories I add, with an in-app search box and quick filters to narrow results. A tap on the bookmark icon should save an article locally and sync it to the user’s cloud profile so the list survives a reinstall. All screens must respect Google’s Material and Apple’s Human Interface guidelines, yet keep the branding consistent.
Deliverables I expect:
• Production-ready AAB (Android) and IPA/TestFlight (iOS) builds
• Well-structured source code in Git with clear commit history
• Brief technical documentation covering environment setup, third-party keys, push-notification endpoints, and how editors can publish new content
• Thirty days of post-launch support for critical bug fixes
Acceptance criteria: the app passes store review on both platforms, push alerts reach devices in under five seconds once triggered, YouTube streams play smoothly on a 4 G connection, and bookmarked stories reappear after the user logs back in.
Let me know which cross-platform framework you plan to use (Flutter, React Native, or similar), share one or two apps you have already shipped to both stores, and outline your estimated timeline." (client-provided description)
