Time to start: As soon as possible
Project description:
"I need an Android application that wraps the proven [login to view URL] workflow so I can manage ESP8266 and ESP32 boards directly from a phone or tablet. The core tasks are straightforward: flash new firmware, create full backups, and perform a clean wipe. Both a touch-friendly GUI and an embedded CLI have to be available, so beginners can tap their way through an “Easy” screen while power users can drop to the command line or switch to an “Advanced” panel whenever they need finer control.
Key add-ons I rely on:
• Real-time log viewing (same detail level as [login to view URL] logging).
• A field where I can override any auto-generated command or paste a completely custom esptool command.
• Instant toggle between Easy and Advanced modes without restarting the app.
Implementation notes
– The app must talk to the boards over USB-OTG; auto-detect common bridges such as CP210x, CH34x and FTDI.
– Preserve the full esptool feature set: flash size detection, erase modes, baud rate selection, etc.
– Logs should be copyable and exportable as TXT.
– Dark-theme friendly UI is a plus, but the functional flow is more important than appearance.
– An obfuscation and anti-tamper mechanism to prevent string replacement : The main page will have my page's website, modifying it will cause the App refuse to do Flash/Backup/Wipe operations.
Deliverables
1. Signed release APK and installable debug build.
2. Complete source code (Android Studio / Gradle), with lots of verbose comments.
3. Source code build instructions.
4. Brief README covering device requirements, tested chipsets, and how to add new esptool arguments in future.
5. One short demo video (screen capture is fine) proving flash, backup, and wipe on a real board.
Everything has to compile offline; please avoid cloud-only toolchains. Once the above items are in my hands and I can reproduce the same results on my test bench, the project is complete.
I have provided the example program that runs on Windows OS. This can be used as a blueprint." (client-provided description)
