Project description:
"I need a compact custom ESPHome component that extends the heatpumpir Arduino library so my Panasonic RKR-series heat-pump is recognised by the IR Climate platform. Temperature control across the full 16 – 30 °C range is the priority; default handling for fan speed and mode can remain unchanged. The same codebase should also transmit and receive Sony TV codes, but only reliable power on/off is required there.
The IR receiver must be active so state stays in sync whenever the original remotes are used. I’d like a lightweight solution—just the additional C++/header files plus a sample YAML snippet I can drop into `custom_components` and compile with the current ESPHome release.
Acceptance criteria:
• Panasonic RKR responds to every 16-30 °C set-point change issued from Home Assistant.
• IR receiver updates the climate entity when the handheld remote is used.
• Sony TV turns on and off consistently from Home Assistant commands.
• Sketch compiles cleanly in the latest ESPHome without warnings.
Send over your approach and timeline and I can get you access to my existing YAML for quick testing." (client-provided description)
