Project description:
"I want a lightweight, completely free-to-use web proxy called “red”. The finished product should open in a regular browser tab yet feel like its own mini-browser: multiple tabs along the top, a red-and-black colour scheme throughout, and smooth switching between pages.
Core requirement
The proxy must reliably bypass both the Lightspeed Filter Agent and GoGuardian on school or corporate networks. If either of those services tries to inspect or block traffic, the user should still reach the requested site without seeing a block page.
Target environment
Right now I only need the proxy to run cleanly in Google Chrome on desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux). Mobile support can wait for a later phase.
Deliverables
• Full source code (front-end assets and back-end service)
• Clear build/run instructions so I can host it myself on a standard VPS or a free service like Render, Vercel, or Heroku
• A short README that explains how the tool defeats Lightspeed and GoGuardian in non-technical terms
Tech stack is flexible—Node.js with Express, Python with Flask, or any other open-source solution is fine as long as it meets the goals above and stays free for end users.
I’ll test by loading the proxy in Chrome, opening three tabs, and navigating to sites normally blocked by Lightspeed and GoGuardian. If every page loads and the UI matches the red/black mock-ups I’ll provide, the job is done." (client-provided description)
