"Numerous old product and collection links on my Shopify store currently serve a 404 status. For cleaner indexing and clearer signals to search engines, each of those URLs needs to serve a true 410 Gone response instead.

The job covers three parts:
• Audit – compile a full list of every live 404 on the store (Google Search Console exports, Screaming Frog, or any reliable crawler is fine).
• Implementation – adjust the theme or create a dedicated template so Shopify serves an HTTP 410 header for each URL on that list. The live site must remain unaffected for all other pages.
• Verification – provide before-and-after status checks plus a short guide so I can add future retired URLs myself.

Acceptance criteria: every URL that returned 404 now returns 410; no healthy pages change status; tests pass in an external header checker.
