"My WordPress install is repeatedly bumping into the hosting cap of 20 concurrent MySQL connections, which occasionally throws “Error establishing a database connection.” I’m looking for someone to dive into the code, track down whatever is leaving connections open, and replace any lingering mysql_connect calls with proper $wpdb or mysqli usage.

The job breaks down into three core pieces:
• Audit & repair – comb through the theme plus all active SEO and security plugins, close any open-ended connections and clean up inefficient queries.
• Caching – configure both page caching and object caching so the front end serves from cache whenever possible, slashing the number of database hits.
• Validation – once you’re done, the site should load quickly without downtime or slow pages and must stay under the 20-connection ceiling during peak traffic.
