"My Icecast station runs on Liquidsoap and the current custom script isn’t doing what I need. Three pain points are blocking smooth automation: the overnight block rarely fires exactly at its scheduled start time, the closing IDs and liners at the end of that block never trigger, and the “auto-generated” daily playlist repeats the same tracks in identical order.

Here’s what I need corrected:

• Scheduling – the overnight show must reliably start on the dot and hand back control at the right moment.
• Closers – a short set of ending files (already on the server) has to play before the next clock wheel begins.
• Daily playlist logic – each day a fresh .m3u should be created, pulling randomly from a folder I provide (≈ 1,200 songs) with minimal repeats from the previous 24 hours.

All audio is on the server, Liquidsoap 2.x is installed, and I can grant SSH access plus the existing .liq file for reference. Please keep the solution in Liquidsoap (no external schedulers); once updated I’ll test live for two nights before marking the job complete.
