"I’m building a cross-platform chat application that replicates the fluid, always-connected feel of IRCCloud, but packaged as native Android and iOS apps. The core experience must deliver instantaneous, reliable real-time messaging, complete with push notifications so users never miss a line, and seamless media sharing for images and videos within any conversation.

A straightforward email-and-password sign-up / log-in flow is required; no social or two-factor hooks for now. Beyond that, the interface should stay lightweight and familiar to anyone who has used traditional IRC or modern team messengers—think channel lists, private chats, unread indicators, and quick reconnection after a signal drop.

I’m open to the technical stack you prefer—Swift/Kotlin, Flutter, React Native, or another proven framework—as long as performance feels native and the codebase is cleanly structured for future feature additions. Please include in your approach:

• Your proposed architecture for maintaining persistent real-time connections (for example, WebSockets or equivalent).
• A concise outline of how you’ll handle push notifications on both APNs and FCM.
• Any third-party services you intend to leverage for file storage or message history, or whether you plan to build that layer from scratch.

Successful delivery means both apps are deployable to TestFlight and internal testing tracks on Google Play, with clear build instructions, commented source, and a brief hand-off document that maps features to code modules." (client-provided description)
