My WordPress site grinds to a halt only when users log in or out. Every other page loads normally, so the slowdown is isolated to the authentication flow. There are three separate bottlenecks that appear in quick succession and together add several seconds to each login/logout event.

I already confirmed it is not a hosting or CDN issue; the culprit sits somewhere in WordPress core, a theme function, or a plugin hook that fires on wp_login and wp_logout. I need those three trouble spots identified and permanently resolved without breaking existing functionality.

Please deliver:
• a concise report showing where each slowdown occurs (query, hook, or script) and why
• clean, documented fixes or optimisations applied through child-theme code, custom plugin, or safe plugin configuration changes
• before-and-after metrics proving the login/logout sequence is back under one second on my staging site, then replicated on production

You’ll have full staging access, Query Monitor and New Relic already running, and I’m happy to supply any extra logs you need. Familiarity with PHP, MySQL query optimisation, object caching and typical WordPress performance tools (WP-CLI, Debug Bar, etc.) will make this task straightforward.
