Project description:
"Manual Picking Brief 2 (Sept 25)

Overview
Assistance is required in the construction of a small shuttle that runs accurately to positions along a rail. Powered by battery and using sensors to find the positions along the rail.
Once in position, digital number displays are activated, guiding a person to pick an object off a shelf. Light signals on a collection trolly are then activated once the object is scanned.
This new equipment will need to integrate with existing software, and you will need to work with software engineers who build it to ensure that integration.

I would prefer that construction takes place where I live to avoid the acquisition of heavy or duplication of purchasing expensive component at your location. Cheaper items to ship back to me can be purchased at your end or, we might be able to substitute for cheaper items where possible at your end. If this is not feasible or turns out that way there may be other solutions.

The equipment required is an aid to make the manual picking of grocery items in a dark store (like a warehouse) faster. There are no general public in the area where the picking is taking place.

Further details
Rails would be mounted on shelves similar to that of a supermarket. A small shuttle would run along the rail to stop at locations corresponding to the next products to be picked. We already have an Android App for manual picking and backend software to manage generally.
The shelves would be about 2.2 to 2.4 meters tall. Each shuttle would have a pole extending down from it of length 1.1 meters. Along the pole are digital number displays for the number of items to be picked. Blinking of either the display or a light next to it is required. Once the product is scanned it is marked as picked in the app (this has already been achieved in the App/backend). The shuttle can then move to the next location on that aisle.
More than one shuttle would be on each rail so if multiple products are close the shuttles/poles can position close together and we don’t need to wait for the single shuttle to move.

I have intentionally kept this short and understand you may have more questions if you think this is something you are interested in.

Thank you." (client-provided description)
