"I run a real-estate app whose entire feed is made of short video reels on both iOS and Android. Right now every reel shows a black frame for roughly one second before playback starts. I need that pause eliminated so the experience feels as snappy as Instagram.

The iOS build relies on AVFoundation, the Android build on ExoPlayer, yet the glitch appears on both platforms. I’m after someone who has already tuned reel playback in a live product; please share links or builds that clearly demonstrate your previous optimisation work—those examples will determine who gets repository access.

Your task is to profile the current pre-load / buffer strategy, remove the delay, and hand back an updated branch for each platform plus a brief technical summary of the fix so my in-house team can maintain it.

Acceptance criteria
• First frame becomes visible in ≤100 ms, audio perfectly synced.
• Scrolling through at least 30 consecutive reels stays consistently smooth on mid-range devices.
• No increase in memory or network usage over the current build.
