"I have a production React Native mobile app that now feels dated and limited, so the next milestone focuses on two clear goals: refreshing the overall UI/UX and adding a fully-functional chat feature.

UI/UX enhancements
The current screens work, but the visual polish and flow no longer match user expectations. I’ll provide Figma mocks and the current codebase; your work will involve updating components, colours, typography, and any navigation adjustments needed to make the experience feel modern and consistent across iOS and Android. Smooth transitions and refined interactions are important—React Navigation and reanimated know-how will help here.

New feature: real-time chat
Users should be able to exchange messages inside the app. I’m open to the best technical path—Firebase, [login to view URL], or a similar solution—but the final implementation has to support:
• one-to-one text chat
• push delivery of new messages while the app is in the background
• basic read receipts
• persistence so history survives log-outs

Acceptance criteria
1. Updated UI matches provided Figma designs pixel-close on both major device sizes.
2. Navigation remains smooth at 60 fps with no new crashes or warnings.
3. Chat module passes my integration tests for sending, receiving, and persisting messages.
4. Code is clean, TypeScript-typed, and committed via Git with clear comments.
