"I need a straightforward Windows desktop application that lets me build, edit, and save Critical Path Method (CPM) charts for day-to-day project management. The flow should be as simple as entering tasks, setting durations and predecessors, and instantly seeing the network diagram with the critical path highlighted.

Core expectations
• Runs natively on current Windows 10/11 machines without extra installs.
• Clean interface for adding tasks, linking dependencies and adjusting durations.
• Automatic calculation of earliest start/finish, latest start/finish and float.
• Printable and exportable output (PDF and PNG at minimum) so I can share schedules with my team.
• Project files saved in a human-readable format (JSON or XML is fine) for easy versioning.

Deliverables
• Compiled installer or portable EXE.
• Full, well-commented source code.
• Brief user guide explaining basic workflow, shortcuts and export steps.

I’m language-agnostic (C#, Java, Python with PyInstaller, etc.) as long as the final build is stable on Windows and future tweaks are straightforward.
