Project description:
"I am building a browser-based diagram canvas that will serve as the foundation for several future products, so the code must be modular, performant, and easy to extend. The core interaction is straightforward—users draw diagrams—but I need it done with the flexibility of JointJS, GoJS, or a comparable library you can justify.
Key behaviours to implement right now
• Node and link creation that feels smooth and intuitive
• A palette of custom shapes and icons, with the ability to add more later without rewriting core logic
• Fluid zoom and pan so large diagrams remain usable
• Save / load to a cloud back-end (I’m open to Firebase, AWS, or another service you prefer)
Scalability matters as much as features. Please structure the project so new shape packs, real-time collaboration, or role-based permissions can be added in phases rather than forcing a full rewrite. Clean separation between UI, drawing engine, and persistence layer is essential.
Deliverables
1. Front-end source (framework of your choice, but modern JS/TS preferred) wired up to JointJS, GoJS, or a similar engine
2. Cloud storage integration with basic CRUD for diagrams
3. Build / run instructions and a short technical README outlining how to plug in new features
Once the MVP is live and tested, I plan to keep iterating, so solid architecture will lead to more work together. Show me past canvases or diagramming tools you’ve built, and outline how you’d approach scalability in your proposal.
In your response, please include prior work done in this area." (client-provided description)
