Project description:
"Prototype Development: Verification Lamp with Camera + Magnifier + Software
We need a hardware and software prototype for a verification device. The product should look like a modern desk lamp, with a flexible gooseneck arm and a C-clamp base that attaches to a table.
Hardware requirements:
. LED ring light around a small magnifier lens (with on/off control)
. Magnifier lens (3–5x) for reading fine details
. Integrated camera (12–20MP, aligned with magnifier lens)
. Flexible gooseneck arm for positioning
. C-clamp mount to secure to the work table
. Large button or optional foot pedal trigger for capture
Software (MVP):
. Live camera preview
. Item/Tray ID input (barcode/QR scan or manual entry)
. Capture 1–3 photos, auto-save with filename format: [login to view URL]
. Metadata stored in JSON/CSV (ID, operator initials, timestamp)
. Simple search/review function
. Local storage, with option to sync/export to shared folder
Phase 2 (future):
. Auto-detect indicator strip or target item using computer vision
. Color detection of inspection strips
. Cloud integration or enterprise system interface

Budget: $3,000 – $5,500 (negotiable)
Timeline: 8–10 weeks for first working prototype
Please include in your proposal:
1. Your approach to building the hardware and software
2. Estimated cost and timeline
3. Examples of past work in IoT, imaging, or hardware/software prototypes
Skills to select: Hardware Prototyping, Raspberry Pi / Arduino / IoT Development, Python / OpenCV / Qt, Embedded Systems, Industrial Design / Product Design
Screening Questions:
1. Have you built a hardware + software prototype before?
2. Which platform would you use (Raspberry Pi, mini-PC, or other)?
3. Can you deliver both hardware and software, or only one side?
4. What past project is most similar to this?" (client-provided description)
