Project description:
"Description:
We are seeking a skilled freelance developer with strong experience in web application optimization and security hardening to improve our RFID-based coffee accounting platform, Tappuccino.
Tappuccino is a browser-based system built with HTML, JavaScript, and Bootstrap, designed for self-hosted environments. It allows users to register via NFC (RFID), manage their personal coffee balance, and select products on a trust basis. The platform is modular and uses hash-based routing (e.g., #login, #account, #howto).
Project Objectives:
Functional Optimization
Improve code modularity and maintainability
Refactor UI components for better user experience and responsiveness
Streamline user flows (e.g., login, account management, transaction view)
Improve performance for embedded devices (e.g., Raspberry Pi or kiosk terminals)
Security Hardening
Implement or improve client-side input validation
Strengthen access control mechanisms
Evaluate and secure local storage usage (if applicable)
Suggest and apply best practices for offline fallback handling
Ensure the system behaves safely in case of server unavailability
Requirements:
Strong skills in JavaScript, HTML5, and Bootstrap
Familiarity with offline-first or fallback-ready web apps
Understanding of client-side security concerns (XSS, input validation, etc.)
Experience working with NFC/RFID in web contexts is a plus
Git knowledge (existing codebase is under version control)
Deliverables:
Optimized codebase with clear documentation of changes
Security assessment report with implemented fixes
Suggestions for future-proofing and modular growth
Important Note:
Please submit a clear and final fixed-price offer for the entire project. No price negotiations will be accepted after your offer has been submitted. Only candidates who respect this policy will be considered." (client-provided description)
