"I need a robust backend API that powers a multi-format news platform and an accompanying admin panel. The API must cleanly serve two primary content streams—standard News Articles and vertical Video Shorts/Reels—through versioned, documented endpoints that my web and mobile front-ends can consume.

For discovery, I only need a Trending Topics endpoint for now, but the architecture should keep room for the usual category tree or any future Featured/Top Stories logic so we can scale without a rewrite.

The admin panel is equally important. A JWT-secured login gate protects access, and once inside I must be able to perform full CRUD on every article and video record. An integrated media library should handle upload, storage reference, and basic rendition details so editors never touch the file system directly. From the same dashboard I also want quick controls to update high-impact elements such as the Breaking News ticker and which stories surface as “featured” on the homepage.

• REST or GraphQL API with clear, versioned docs
• Data models for Articles and Video Shorts/Reels, ready for future Photo Story expansion
• Admin UI with JWT auth, CRUD, and media library workflow
• Endpoint for Trending Topics that can scale to categories later
