I run a custom-built WordPress application that blends classic PHP, JavaScript and CSS work with cutting-edge AI features. I need someone who can step in, take full ownership of the codebase and keep it running at peak performance.

Your day-to-day will revolve around three intertwined areas: tightening up the core WordPress stack, extending functionality with clean front- and back-end code, and pushing our AI layer further by refining prompts and fine-tuning the underlying models. I expect proactive decisions on security hardening, caching, database queries, and any theme or plugin refactors required to reach consistently fast load times.

Deliverables
• Audit, optimise and document the existing WordPress setup
• Write or refactor PHP, JS and CSS to add or improve features without breaking current flows
• Apply prompt-engineering best practices to raise response quality and consistency
• Fine-tune our current AI models (OpenAI GPT-4 API) and validate improvements with benchmark tests
• Implement or strengthen security measures, monitoring and automated backups
• Provide clear hand-off notes and Git commits for every change
