"I have a macOS machine paired with a local-provider SIM card that already enjoys a free-SMS quota. The goal is simple: send outgoing texts straight from this number through desktop software instead of a phone. Incoming messages, two-way sync, fancy dashboards—none of that matters. I only need a rock-solid, outbound-only gateway that is up and running within 24 hours.

Any solution comparable to Gammu, Kannel, GoIP, SMSTools or a clean Docker image is acceptable as long as it installs cleanly on macOS, recognises my USB/4G dongle (or other hardware bridge I provide), and pushes messages over the carrier’s network the same way a handset would. The configuration must explicitly bind to my SIM so it keeps using the free SMS allowance.

Once it works, hand over a concise step-by-step note so I can repeat the process or tweak settings later. Please make sure to test with at least one real message before delivery; I’ll verify on my side for final sign-off.
