Time to start: As soon as possible
Project description:
"***NOTICE: IP AGREEMENT, NDA BASED***
I have a clear vision for a Habbo-inspired multiplayer world that runs entirely in the browser. The atmosphere should feel immediately familiar to anyone who loves isometric pixel art lobbies, rooms, and mini-games, yet the codebase needs to be modern, modular, and scalable.
Scope
• Platform: Web only—no separate desktop or mobile builds required at this stage.
• Visual style: Authentic pixel art, preferably isometric, with smooth animations and a palette that evokes classic social hotel games.
• Core social features: real-time chat (public rooms and private whispers) and a persistent friends list that follows users between sessions.
What I need from you
1. A playable browser prototype that loads a tile-based room, supports avatar movement with basic collision, and allows multiple players to join the same space.
2. Integrated WebSocket-powered chat and a database-backed friends list (Redis, MongoDB, or similar—open to your suggestion).
3. Clean, well-commented source code (TypeScript/JavaScript with Phaser, PixiJS, or your preferred HTML5 engine) and build instructions so I can continue development internally.
4. A brief technical document outlining architecture decisions and how to extend the project with new rooms, items, or future features like guilds.
A list of features to be used can be asked for further project discussion
Please share links to any pixel-art or multiplayer browser projects you’ve shipped. I’m excited to get this hotel opened to the public and will be available for quick feedback throughout the sprint." (client-provided description)
