Project description:
"I run a live website that already turns raw phone-sensor data into dynographs and horsepower and Nm figures. The core workflow— driver inputs basic car info, performs a strong 4th-gear pull, and the app converts accelerometer, GPS, and gyroscope readings with formulas and informations from driver about car into power numbers— is solid and in production.
What I want now is a specialist who can scrutinise the existing maths, signal processing, and sensor handling, then push the accuracy as far as those sensors will allow. In practice that means revisiting every step that turns acceleration traces into torque and power curves: refining or replacing the current formulas, improving the filtering of noisy GPS/gyro data, and, where it makes sense, introducing additional derived metrics (for instance, bias-corrected accelerometer output or sensor-fusion techniques such as a Kalman filter).
If you have hands-on experience squeezing reliable performance figures out of mobile accelerometers, GPS, and gyroscopes—and the coding skill to ship those improvements into a production code-base—this should be a straightforward yet satisfying job.
Deliverables
• Reviewed and updated calculation module with well-commented code
• Documentation explaining the new or revised formulas and any filtering / fusion algorithms used
• A before-vs-after test report, using my supplied log files, that demonstrates tighter repeatability (target ±3 % across multiple pulls)
I will give you full access to the current repository, sample drives, and the live staging environment as soon as we start." (client-provided description)
