Project description:
"I want to turn Texas Instruments’ UC28881 into a compact SIL-style power-module and run the entire workflow inside KiCad. Starting from a blank project, I need you to:
Initialize github project and share with me
• Build a clean component library using only standard parts already available in KiCad or on common distributor databases, making sure footprints and 3-D models line up perfectly with the datasheets.
• Draft the full schematic from scratch around the UC28881, including all recommended support circuitry (input filters, current-sense network, MOSFET gate drive, feedback loop, auxiliary supply, etc.).
• Verify the design with KiCad’s built-in SPICE simulator: I’m mainly interested in start-up behaviour, current-limit response and steady-state efficiency. Please share the annotated schematic and all waveform plots so I can reproduce the results.
• Lay out a single-layer-in-line (SIL) PCB that keeps creepage/clearance and thermal paths in mind, then generate production-ready Gerbers, drill files and pick-and-place data.
• Produce a detailed BOM that includes manufacturer part numbers, distributor SKUs, MOQ and current stock.
• Organise fabrication, component purchasing and assembly if you have the capability—or hand over panel artwork and an ordered BOM so I can place the orders myself.
Acceptance criteria
– KiCad .lib, .kicad_sch, .kicad_pcb and project files open without errors in KiCad 7.x
– Simulation files run and replicate the key plots you provide
– DRC and ERC pass with no critical errors
– Gerbers zip uploads cleanly to JLCPCB and PCBWay preview tools
– BOM entries are buyable from at least two mainstream suppliers (e.g., Mouser, Digikey, Farnell)
If milestones make sense, we can split them: library & schematic, simulation sign-off, PCB & fabrication package, then procurement/assembly. I’m ready to get started as soon as you can confirm your approach and estimated timeline." (client-provided description)
