Project description:
"Our learning management system once had bespoke plugin tweaks that powered course management and user authentication seamlessly. After a recent update those customizations stopped working, leaving instructors unable to manage courses the way we designed and locking some users out of their accounts. I still have the original codebase and all change logs; what I need now is a careful audit, repair, and re-deployment of those modified plugins so the platform behaves exactly as before.
You will be digging into the plugins/extensions layer only—no core LMS or database alterations are required beyond what the plugins already expect. The focus areas are:
• Course management: custom fields, instructor-side creation/edit screens, and our enrolment logic.
• User authentication: the tailored login/registration flow that hooks into our single-sign-on token.
The environment runs on a standard LAMP stack with Git version control ready for you. Once fixes are applied, unit tests (PHPUnit) and a staging roundtrip should show zero errors and the UI should mirror the original workflow.
Deliverables accepted when:
1. Restored plugins compile without warnings and pass existing test suites.
2. Course creation, editing, and enrolment actions finish successfully for admin and instructor roles.
3. Users authenticate through the custom flow without fallback to the default LMS screen.
4. A brief change log explains what was altered and why for future maintenance.
That’s the whole scope—targeted, well-documented plugin restoration so our LMS returns to business as usual." (client-provided description)
