Time to start: As soon as possible
Project description:
"I want to bring a full-featured fundamental analysis tool to Android. The flow is simple: a user enters a ticker, chooses an investment horizon (my default is long-term, 3 + years), and the app automatically pulls the richest set of financial statements it can find—Yahoo Finance, Google Finance, Morningstar, or any other reliable API you recommend—as long as coverage is wide and data is granular.
Once the data is in, the valuation engine needs to calculate intrinsic value through several lenses and then combine the insights into a clear recommendation:
• Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)
• Dividend Discount Model (DDM)
• Comparable Company Analysis
• PEG ratio
• Profit-based valuation model
• EV/EBITDA model
• Forward P/E ratio approach
I have my own rules and criteria for calculation of intrinsic value
After running the numbers, the app should grade the stock’s fundamental strength, show individual model outputs, a blended fair value, margin of safety, and finally a buy/hold/sell call that a long-term investor can act on with confidence.
Deliverables
1. Android Studio project (Kotlin or Java) with clean, well-commented code.
2. README covering data source setup, key formulae, and any external libraries.
3. Signed APK and a short test report that demonstrates valuation accuracy on at least one sample ticker.
Acceptance criteria: model outputs fall within ±5 % of equivalent spreadsheet calculations; changing the horizon alters terminal assumptions correctly; and the project builds and installs without errors on the latest stable version of Android Studio." (client-provided description)
