"Project Summary – Transactional Self-Service Kiosks

This turnkey solution aims to implement transactional kiosks for self-service at the three Vehicle Technical Inspection (VTI) centers operated by ABC. The goal is to streamline user interaction, automate manual procedures, and ensure secure real-time communication with the FIF central system through modern cloud-native architecture.

Scope
Development of kiosk software (frontend + backend).
Integration with FIF APIs (inspection, payments, and scheduling).
Provision and installation of hardware (Windows-based kiosks + thermal printers).
Setup of monitoring, logging, and maintenance through Firebase.

Core Use Cases
Check Technical Inspection Results
The kiosk retrieves real-time inspection data from FIF Calificador API, enriches it with local data from Firestore (FS_DEF), and displays detailed defect reports with diagrams and severity levels.


Print Payment Request
Users can print a thermal receipt by querying FIF Payment API via Cloud Functions, confirming print success through a feedback loop that ensures transaction integrity.


Book Inspection Appointment
The system integrates with the FIF Appointment API using an Asynchronous Saga Orchestrator in Cloud Functions to maintain data consistency and manage booking rollbacks in case of errors.
