Project Description

I’m looking for an experienced Android ROM developer or technician who can install a free, clean, and up-to-date Android ROM on a Lanix Ilium Pad X8 (MT6580) tablet — or alternatively, provide a fully working ROM package with flashing instructions.

The tablets come from a hotel liquidation and are currently locked with a pre-installed MDM / kiosk system that restricts normal use.
The goal is to remove this restriction and make the device fully functional again with a fresh, stable Android system.

• Model: Lanix Ilium Pad X8
• Processor (SoC): MediaTek MT6580
• CPU: ARM Cortex-A7 (32-bit)
• RAM: 1 GB
• Storage: 8 GB
• Factory System: Android 6.0 (OEM-locked / hotel software)
• Target: A free, lightweight, updateable Android version without any OEM or MDM restrictions

Requirements for the New ROM

The new ROM should:

Be fully compatible with the MT6580 chipset
Be based on Android 7.1 to 10 (Go Edition preferred)
Be lightweight, stable, and updateable
Optionally include Google Play Services (not mandatory)
Support multiple languages (German / English)
Not require root access (root can be optional)

Example ROMs that may work:
• LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2)
• AOSP Go Edition 8.1
• Pixel Experience Light (Android 10 MT6580 port)

Scope of Work

There are two possible approaches — you can offer one or both:

Option A – Provide a Working ROM Package
• Deliver a tested, fully working ROM image (scatter-based)
• Include all required files (scatter, system/vendor images, SP Flash Tool version, drivers)
• Provide a clear step-by-step flashing guide in English (SP Flash Tool / Fastboot / ADB)

Option B – Remote or On-Device Flashing
• Perform the flashing remotely via TeamViewer / AnyDesk
or
• I can ship one test device to you, you install the new ROM,
test functionality, and return it with the new system installed.
• Optionally, create a “master ROM image” that I can replicate to the remaining tablets.

Budget & Payment
• Up to 100 USD for a fully working ROM package including flash instructions
or for remote flashing of one device
• Payment upon successful boot and functionality confirmation
• If needed, one device can be shipped for testing (shipping costs covered by me)

Expected Outcome

After completion, the tablet should:
• Be completely free of hotel / MDM restrictions
• Boot normally and function like a standard Android device
• Support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, touchscreen, and apps
• Be stable, updateable, and ready for normal use

Legal Notice

All tablets were legally purchased with invoices from a hotel liquidation.
Installing a new operating system is fully legal and done on devices I own.
This project does not involve bypassing third-party security protections —
only replacing the restricted OEM firmware with a free Android version.

• USB connection: working and recognized
• Experience: basic flashing knowledge (I can follow your instructions)
