We are seeking a highly versatile Full-Stack Robotics Engineer to lead the end-to-end development of a small-scale autonomous ocean vacuum prototype powered by AI and Arduino technology. This role involves designing, building, programming, and testing the full system including the mechanical hull, electronics, control systems, and basic perception functions.
Success in this position means delivering a functional and tested working prototype that can navigate water surfaces autonomously, detect oil spills, and perform basic cleanup operations. This role plays a central part in the organization’s innovation efforts, laying the groundwork for future scaling, commercialization, and team expansion. Design and develop the overall system architecture, including mechanical structure, electronic components, and control systems.
Build and integrate propulsion, power, and vacuum mechanisms into a waterproof chassis.
Program microcontrollers (Arduino) for navigation, motor control, and sensor data processing.
Integrate and calibrate sensors such as GPS, IMU, depth or pressure sensors, cameras, and oil detection modules.
Develop and implement basic AI or computer vision solutions using OpenCV or TinyML.
Conduct field tests in water, collect data, troubleshoot issues, and refine the prototype.
Document design decisions, system configurations, and testing results clearly for future reference.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align prototype capabilities with project goals and timelines.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent experience in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronics, or a related field.
Proven experience building functional prototypes or robotic systems from concept to testing.
Strong skills in Arduino (C or C++) and Python for AI or computer vision integration.
Hands-on experience with mechanical design (CAD), basic fabrication, and waterproofing techniques.
Proficiency in electronics, including wiring, sensors, power systems, and motor controllers.
Familiarity with GPS, IMU, and sensor integration for navigation.
Understanding of basic AI or ML concepts, TinyML, or OpenCV for simple perception tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability, and the ability to work independently on complex systems.
