Project description:
"My small children’s brand lost its original web developer halfway through the build, so I’m picking up the pieces and want to get the project back on track quickly. The site is live but still rough around the edges: the layout feels clunky, performance is laggy, and some copy was never proof-read. I need all of that tightened so the experience is smooth, engaging and kid-friendly.
Next, I’m ready to launch a storefront that will sell our service-based offerings (think virtual workshops and custom activity sessions), followed by three tiered subscriptions that gate exclusive content behind a login. Each tier should unlock age-appropriate videos, print-at-home activities and behind-the-scenes character stories; payment handling and renewal logic must be rock-solid and easy for parents to manage.
Because the brand identity relies on whimsical characters originally drawn by a former Milton Bradley artist, I also need fresh artwork that matches his line style and color palette. If you can illustrate in a similar hand—or you have a partner who can—let me know.
I’m in Austin and love to collaborate face-to-face, but a witty, reliable remote dev or artist is absolutely welcome. Work will be paid in progressive milestones so we both see steady progress.
Key milestones (acceptance criteria):
• Polish design, copy and performance until Core Web Vitals hit “good” ranges and every page passes a quick read-through with no typos.
• Build a storefront using whatever stack suits you best (WordPress + WooCommerce, Shopify custom theme, or a modern JS stack) as long as checkout for services is frictionless.
• Implement three subscription tiers with Stripe (or comparable) recurring billing, secure content gating, upgrade/downgrade paths and parental controls.
• Deliver at least four new character illustrations that visually blend with the existing set; I’ll provide reference PSDs.
If you have the chops, a sense of humor, and a nod to kid-centric UX, I’d love to chat and see your work." (client-provided description)
